WIA-uitkering (IVA / WGA)
Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act benefit
UWV pays 70%-75% of your prior monthly wage if you can't fully work after 2 years of illness — IVA for full disability, WGA for partial.
Start application →The WIA-uitkering is the Dutch Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act benefit, paid by UWV after the standard ~91-93 weeks of employer-paid sickness. It splits into two streams: IVA, which pays 75% of your WIA-maandloon if you are fully and permanently unfit for work, and WGA, which pays a 70%-75% taper for partial disability. The 2026 monthly cap is €6,617. Applications are filed on MijnUWV with a re-integration report (re-integratieverslag) covering the prior 2 years of efforts to return to work. Workers aged 60 or over at first day of illness can use a simplified medical assessment introduced in recent years. The decision determines both the type of benefit and the obligation to keep working toward your remaining capacity.
Eligibility
You may qualify for a WIA benefit if:

- Your earning capacity has dropped by at least 35% compared with your prior work
- You and your employer have followed the 2-year re-integration process and produced a re-integratieverslag
- UWV's medical and labour expert assess your residual capacity
- You apply on MijnUWV before the end of the wage continuation period
